An Interactive Medical Imaging Solution for Cephalometry with Data Acquisition and Analysis

چکیده

Till date Cephalometry has largely been limited to the desk in the form of X-ray markings in the literal sense. An obvious amelioration in the form of switching to the digital domain has been mulled over for quite some time. But unfortunately the above mentioned solution is still in its infancy and its potential and implications have not been fully recognized. This paper reflects on an interactive imaging solution developed by us that addresses this specific need. Also tackled in the same are issues like requirement of such software and its predicted consequences. A general overview of the fields of Cephalometry with a spotlight on Steiner's Analysis is presented. To acquaint the reader further an explanation into the various JAVA components that have been used is elucidated in order for full appreciation of the Solution proffered. The Onus of the paper is with regard to unveiling the possibility of bringing the global community of cephalometrists together over the World Wide Web. This, we surmise will lead to better interactionbetween them and lead to a unified analysis of the cephalometric constants thus promoting local emendations showing the extent of man's adaptations. This can only be for the good of the scientific community at large.
